Grandma Gayle Meets Evangeline!
My Mom came for a few weeks to help us out in numerous ways! Many nights she took shifts, so I could get some rest. She made many of my favorite home cooked meals. She also brought Reagan her own Bitty Baby (baby version of the America Doll) to help with the transition. It has been sooooo helpful having her here! Thank you MOM!!!
Grand Marie, Grandpa Tom & Uncle Tim Meet Evangeline!
The day after we got home from the hospital, Grand Marie, Grandpa Tom & Uncle Tim came to meet Evangeline, and to make sure Reagan felt extra special! Reagan had a blast and it was great to have them there to rejoice in our new blessing, help us with house chores, and to cook for the entire clan! Reagan is still running around the house asking for them by name: at 4am she wanted to go into the basement to see "Tim", so we called him instead.

Making Our New House Even More of a Home!
On October 5th, we all came home from the hospital. Dan surprised us with a stork in the front yard that announced Evangeline's arrival. It was a perfect way to let our new neighborhood know our great news! Thank you to everyone who came by with food and gifts and well wishes. We were so thankful to have such joy and celebration after our homecoming.
Reagan Meets Her Sister!
Reagan visited the hospital both nights that Evangeline & Mommy were there. She was extremely interested in Evangeline, but was frustrated that she couldn't hold the baby by herself. Her favorite game was to name all of Evangeline's hands, toes, eyes, ears, etc. Evangeline tried to name Reagan's body parts too, but kept falling asleep intead.
Evangeline Frances Arrives!!! October 3rd, 2011.
On Sunday, October 2nd, Alison looked directly at me and said, "I have a gut feeling that the little girl is coming today. Can I call our parents and tell them her name now?" "Not until she is in the Dr's arms," was my reply. "And I'd appreciate if you could hold off for a few more weeks until you deliver the baby."
Within 12 hours, we had called our neighbors to come stay with Reagan and we were off to deliver girl #2. Little Evangeline waited until after the Jets game to start pushing her way out into the world and finally said hello early Monday morning.
Interesting stats:
6lbs, 11 oz
20.5 inches tall
5 different delivery nurses
really small ice chips for mom
NICU team present, but not used
2 waves of the forceps
Dum-Dum sucker, Epidural, morphine, and Tylenol for mom
Coke and 1 uncomfortable prison-made chair for dad
Cord wrapped around neck made for human yo-yo as she tried to escape her mommy's womb
One "Jesus Loves the Little Children" chime played at birth
2 very proud parents
5 very proud grandparents
1 little sister who became a big sister while eating her first McDonald's breakfast
Evangeline sends her love and would like to share her email address with YOU:
