RMB at OBX with GPK

Reagan went on her first trip to the Outer Banks with Grandpa Keith! We had reservations for Thursday and Friday but Hurricane Earl decided to hit Cape Hatteras (a point about 8 miles from our hotel) on Friday morning at 2 AM. We left Raleigh at 9 AM on Friday and we were in the Outer Banks by 2 PM. Many sights were closed, so we enjoyed some seafood at the Black Pelican, Jockey Ridge State Park and its sand dunes, and the enormous waves after the storm. Only residents were there because all tourists had been evacuated the day prior. On Saturday, we did a little sightseeing as things started to open: The Currituck Lighthouse in Corolla, the Currituck Sound and Wildlife Preserve, The National Wright Brothers Historical Sight, and Fishbones Seafood Restaurant. We had a great time! As we went back to Raleigh, we saw the cars, trucks, boats and campers by the dozens swarming into the island for the holiday weekend. We enjoyed having the Outer Banks to ourselves for a day. We will definitely be going back with Daddy when he isn't so busy with school!
